What does the BSOD say? I've been known to fix them on occassion in the past, but usually it'll require a reformat cos windows sucks, or possibly it's a HDD problem.

If its BSOD in alot of cases its corrupt ram, try by process of elimination removing one ramstick and starting it up, if that doesnt work take it out and put the other in. Thats the case on my desktop although one was completely corrupted and the other is 'ish'ly workable, i still get bsod on it but at keast u can see whats causing the problem.

Kronos: 0x0000000BE.

I didn't manage to save the dump file. I tried starting in Safe Mode and it BSOD'd as well. Then I tried booting the "last known best configuration".. After that, I had boot from CD using UltimateBoot4Win. Checked my processor and RAM.. they looked good.

I figure it could be a driver update or something. I don't believe it's hardware, otherwise my system would be right jiggered. My HDD is fine, too.. after I booted from that CD my files were all intact.

I took it into the technician. It should be a week or so.

I had a couple that were caused by conflicts with an HP printer driver.

0x0000000BE is ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY, caused by a faulty driver/firmware you've installed recently. Unless it was 0x8E which is an HDD problem, bad sectors or the like.

STOP: 0x0000000BE (0x806E1800, 0x006E1121, 0xB84C3784, 0x0000000B)

Decipher those parameters, Kronos. I believe that one and two are the meaningful ones whereas the third is meaningless and the fourth is just the location in memory. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sick of this convo. It bores me. Moved to Tech Help area.
