THE 7 PILLARS OF ARCANI

1. Loyalty
When you are in the thick of battle, you need to confident that the men next to you can be relied upon. This is true in on-line battles as well as real-life. The backbone of our clan is true friends that you can rely upon when the going gets tough. That is why we prize loyalty above all else. We look for long term dedicated players who frequently become great personal friends. If you have a short attention span and always jump onto the bandwagon of the next newest game and are joining our clan just to see what its like, Arcani will not be right for you. You will be wasting your own time as well as ours. We do not like to invest the time to get to know newcomers, only to have them disappear shortly thereafter.

2.Honour
This is one of the core principles of Arcani. Not everyone is right for Arcani. In fact, we probably have the highest failure rate for applicants within the Total War community. But to paraphrase Pirate, an Arcani Guardian, he would rather head into battles with 10 honourable warriors than a band of 100 unreliable thief’s and vagabonds. Always conduct yourself honourably. We deal very harshly with cheating and poor sportsmanship.

3.Respect
There are many forms of respect. We not only have respect for leader and officers, but also respect for fellow soldiers. But one element we stress is to have respect for all members of the community at large. Frequently, we see slagging matches in the lobby where players verbally abuse one another over minor grievances. This is not how a professional warrior should conduct himself. So, we do not stand for any of that nonsense. Do unto others what you would have others do unto you.

4.Strength
The respect we have earned over the years was not earned solely by developing friendships with community members. It was bled for on countless fields of battle through the many Total War games. To do justice to the Arcani legions that have gone before, we fully expect our soldiers to perform to certain standards. All members receive initial and ongoing training in the tactics and strategies needed to master the Total War game. New members will be assigned a training officer or mentor who will review your strengths and weaknesses. A detailed profile is created for new recruits and carefully tailored training is carried out. Should you manage to rise to a sufficient rank; the inner sanctum of the Codex will be opened to you. Herein lies all the wisdom of Arcani's advanced strategies and tactics. Only those we deem skillful and loyal enough are privy to its secrets.

5.Discipline
All armies throughout history have strived to ensure discipline is maintained among their troops. There are many famous examples throughout history of small bands of disciplined and dedicated soldiers soundly beating large, chaotic rabbles of men. As the saying goes, a heap of building materials does not a house make. So a cornerstone of the Arcani experience is one of discipline. We manage to be as effective as we are largely due to the fact that our clan members are organized and in good order. This is especially important in fierce team-battles where the commanding officer's orders must be quickly and skillfully acted upon.

6.Determination
Life itself is a battle, whether it be studying for a difficult exam or getting ahead in a competitive career. But ultimately, your character will determine your destiny. Having a well balanced and strong personality will ensure you will succeed where others have long since given up. A similar attitude is necessary to be an Arcani. This is a gaming clan, we realize, but to be the best at anything a certain level of commitment is required. We have as much casual fun as the next clan, but are unique in that we bring a certain amount of determination to everything we do that sets us apart. We are definitely results-oriented. Quite frankly, it just makes for a more satisfying gaming experience without sacrificing any of the fun.

7. Natural Talent
It is no accident that natural talent is the last of the seven pillars of Arcani. While we are a competitive gaming clan and demand a certain level of ability and natural talent, we require more than that alone, and sometimes it is possible to substitute some of the other pillars for this one. Each of the other pillars are equally if not more important than just natural talent alone. Strength via training combined with good discipline can make up some lost ground in this category. So do not feel intimidated. We ensure you will experience a nurturing environment. While natural talent is definitely something that is celebrated in a results-oriented squad, you will find it is very possible to command a great deal of respect if you integrate well into the Arcani model. It will take time, character and grit to advance with or without huge reserves of natural talent.
